About this game
The last 150 m to the Moon. Save fuel and settle softly on a landing pad
What this game is
You start 150 m, about 500 feet, above the Moon. The engine fires only while you hold the burn button, and tilting with the left and right buttons lets the burn push you sideways too. Settle on a green pad with both legs and you have landed.
The whole terrain comes from a single terrain number. A friend with the same number gets the same hills, the same pads and the same starting speed, so you can see who lands more softly with more fuel to spare.
How to play
- Keep the numbers green
- At touchdown you need to be under 2 m/s down, 1.2 m/s sideways and 12 degrees of tilt. The Down and Side readouts at the top turn green inside those limits and red outside them.
- Trade distance for a multiplier
- The wide pad is ×1, the medium one ×2 and the narrow one ×3. The wide pad is always near where you start, while the bigger multipliers can be far away and cost more fuel.
- Burn in short bursts
- Burning uses 4% of your fuel every second. Watching your descent and tapping in short bursts makes the tank last far longer than holding the button down.
Frequently asked questions
- How is the score worked out?
- A landing scores 300, plus 4 for every percent of fuel left and up to 200 for a soft touchdown, all multiplied by the pad multiplier. A crash scores 0.
- Can a friend fly the same terrain?
- Yes. Share at the end and the link carries the terrain number and your score. Your friend starts on the same terrain and is told if they beat you.
- Is it real lunar terrain?
- No. The surface is made up from the terrain number. Only the gravity matches the real Moon, at 1.62 m/s².
- How do I play on a computer?
- Tilt with the left and right arrow keys and burn with the up arrow or space bar. A, D and W work too.
