About this game
Drop discs and line up four first. Play DoYou or a friend on one phone
What this game is
Drop discs into an upright board of seven columns and six rows. A disc falls to the lowest empty spot of its column, and the first to line up four, across, up or diagonally, wins.
Play DoYou or pass one phone back and forth with a friend. DoYou comes in easy, medium and hard, and hard looks eight moves ahead before it drops a disc.
How to play
- The centre column is king
- A disc in the middle column takes part in the most possible lines of four. Opening in the centre is the standard move.
- Threaten two spots at once
- Make one move that sets up two winning spots and your opponent can only block one. That double threat is the big finisher in this game.
- Watch the square underneath
- Filling the spot right under your opponent's winning square hands it to them. When you pick a column, look one square above it too.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there only a score when I beat DoYou?
- Yes. Easy gives 100, medium 250 and hard 500, plus (21 - your moves) × 5. Games with a friend just show who won.
- Does going first help?
- Yes. Connect Four is known to be a first-player win with perfect play. Here you always move first.
- What if a column is full?
- You cannot pick it any more, and a completely full board is a draw.
