About this game
Place stones in turn and line up five first. Play DoYou or a friend
What this game is
Black and white take turns placing stones on the crossings of a 15-line board. The first to line up five or more, across, down or diagonally, wins under free-style rules.
A fingertip easily covers two or three crossings on a phone, so the first tap previews the spot and the second one places the stone. Play DoYou or share one phone with a friend.
How to play
- Watch for open threes
- Three in a row with both ends open turns into an open four next move unless you block it. An open four wins on whichever end is left, so by then it is over.
- Attack and defend in one move
- The best move blocks your opponent's line and extends yours at the same time. DoYou picks its moves by adding exactly those two scores.
- The last move is marked
- The most recent stone carries a small red dot, so you never miss where DoYou just played.
Frequently asked questions
- Are there forbidden moves like in renju?
- No. It is free-style, so black may play double threes and overlines too.
- How is the score worked out?
- Beat DoYou and you get 150 on easy or 400 on medium, plus (60 - your moves) × 3. Games with a friend just show who won.
- Do I tap twice on a computer?
- No. A mouse click places the stone right away. The two-tap preview is only for touch screens.
