Type a name and your own traditional seal gets carved. Same name, same stamp, every time
What this game is
Type a name and it gets carved into a traditional seal. The stamp lands on a paper ground with the fibre showing through, and the same name always comes back as the same seal.
Names in Hangul, Chinese characters or kana are set the traditional way, right column first and reading downward, while names in the Latin alphabet switch to uppercase across the stamp. The cells are divided by how many characters there are, so a two character name and a four character name look nothing alike.
How to play
- Four ways to cut it
- Choose relief, where the strokes stand out in red; intaglio, where the ground is red and the strokes are cut away; round, with a circular border; or grid, ruled into cells. The same name reads differently in each.
- Five ink colours
- Vermilion, ink black, indigo, pine green and plum. Colour plays no part in the layout, so changing it only changes the ink on the same carving.
- The character count sets the grid
- One character fills the whole face, two or three run down a single column, and four sit two by two. The field takes sixteen characters and the first nine of them get carved.
- Recut it, then keep it
- Each press of variation cuts the same name again a different way. Save downloads a PNG, and sharing builds a link carrying the name, the cut and the ink colour.

- Does it work with a Latin name?
- Yes. Names written in the Latin alphabet are set in uppercase and read left to right, while Hangul, Chinese characters and kana are carved in the traditional vertical layout.
- Will the same name always give the same seal?
- Yes. With the same name, cut and variation number, it comes out identical on any device.
- What if the name is long?
- The first nine characters are carved and the rest are dropped. The cell layout adjusts to the count on its own.
- What do I need to save or share it?
- The save button hands you a PNG and the share button builds the link. There is no fee and no app, just one Google sign-in.
