About this game

Flip cards to find matching pairs, a memory game

What this game is

Sixteen face-down cards, and your job is to find the matching pairs. Turn two over: if they match they stay open, if they do not they shake once and flip back.

Eight pairs and the board is clear, but the first few turns are really reconnaissance. Whoever holds on to what sat where speeds up in the back half. Eight pictures go in, and the layout is reshuffled at the start of every board.

How to play

Two cards at a time
Tap to turn two cards over. A match stays face up where it is, a mismatch shakes and flips back.
Eight pairs, sixteen cards
Eight pictures go in twice each. The layout is reshuffled at the start of every board, so a memorised arrangement is worth nothing.
Score comes from flips and time
Each pair you turn counts as one move, and a flawless board finishes in eight. Fewer moves and less time mean a higher score.
Spend the first moves scouting
Missing early is fine. Hold on to what sat where, row by row, and the back half of the board clears in a rush.

Frequently asked questions

How many cards are there?
Sixteen cards, eight pairs. A run with no mistakes ends in eight moves.
Is there a time limit?
There is no time limit. Seconds do shave the score a little, so a long board scores lower.
Do I have to install anything?
Nothing to install and no sign-up. One Google sign-in and the cards are dealt.
Does it work on a phone?
It works in the browser on a phone, tablet or desktop. You flip with a tap, and a match buzzes on phones that support it.
